Back-up Meeting Point

“BATT Argentina ES LA CARA DE TODOS SUS PARTICIPANTES”

BATT Argentina “La Reserva #53” – Run Report (20/10/2018)

On Saturday, the city of Buenos Aires woke us up under a heavy shower and the BATT Argentina Volunteers Team integrated by Crissie, Nestor, Facu and Seb arrived to “La Reserva” in early hours to evaluate the conditions of our course and to start the necessary preparations and be able to develop our 53th053 0101 event in Buenos Aires.

On the day, the front doors of “La Reserva” were closed to the general public due to the weather conditions, but this wasn’t going to be an impairment for the BATT Argentina Team, and they quickly got in action to perform the necessary preparations and safety checks to perform the event using our “Back-Up Course”.

All our events are organized and managed thanks to the warm effort of our fantastic volunteers Team. The tasks are varied and quite simple to be honest, so no excuses.

And there’s no need of missing your weekly run. You can bring a hand taking photographs, checking positions or writing our weekly Run Report between other interesting processes.

If you are interested to know more about how to give us a hand? Please take a look in our volunteers roster and let us know your query and which position you’d like to fill on battvolunteers@gmail.com.

“YOUR ACTION MAKES THE DIFFERENCE”

Volunteers and participants started to get together in our “Back-up Meeting Point” area and our Run Director of the day started briefing the first timers, then provided some general announcements for everyone and also gave a few safety tips to all the day participants.

Important: We have to remind all our members that, our events are not cancelled because of rain and in cases where the gates of “La Reserva” are not opened on the day, our new “Back-up Meeting Point” is in the proximities of the “Viamonte Access Gates” (Av. Int. Hernán. M. Giralt y Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson). Photo back up course

Health & Safety of all the participants plays a key role in all BATT Argentina events and as usual, Seb gave the usual initial announcements to all of our participants, finishing with a big round of applauses for the day volunteers.

All our events are possible thanks to the valuable effort of all our members. All and each of them is a vital participant. The BATT Argentina events are made between all of us.

“BATT Argentina IS THE FACE OF ALL ITS PARTICIPANTS”

053-0103.jpgConcluding the speech, all the day participants started their journey to the Starting area and quickly stablish their positions. Nestor provided some brilliant pics previous to the start and, in the meantime, our day Timer, Facu gave some brief last-minute053 0110 safety indications to all the participant.

Also on the day it was the awaited return of Cris, and as she is used to, took her role as Tale Volunteer to take care for the safety of all our participants.

With all our runners starting their quest, Ema and Seb quickly got settled in the lead, both determined in settling new PBs. Running with a solid rhythm that Ema was able to maintain a bit longer to stablish a good safety margin.

Seb keep pushing and bit by bit was sharing the run 053 0203with all the different participants. The weather conditions were very suitable to perform our beloved sport and the conditions of our course, although it was pretty wet, didn’t present any additional hazard for our participants integrity.

Following our leader closely it was Norberto, looking quite sharp and focussed, continuing his chase for a new PB.

053 0304 02And looking for the last place of our podium, there were the girls, Lucia and Pato quite close and performin at a solid pace.

We must emphasize to our members that all our events are for EVERYONE and that anyone can participate in them. We loved to have children among our members so the whole family can participate, but it is imperative that any child under the age of 11 years old, is accompanied at all times during the completion of our course.

Back at the end of the line, Cris & Sebas were running together taking care of the safety of all our runners during their run. Sebas had 053 0202decided to participate in our event on a “Saving energy” mode to be able to also perform in other two races during the weekend. “La Vuelta de Miguel” on the afternoon, and the “Francisco Solano 10K” the following day.

Well done champ!! Great recovery and now you can’t stop running. Keep it up mate, and please be careful not to overload.

Back at our base, Facu and Néstor were preparing the finishing area. Nestor was in charge as Data Manager and Facu was controlling the times of all the participants. Everything ready and all our volunteers were anxiously awaiting for the first runners to reach the goal line.

Performing a consistent and well paced run, Ema was the first one in completing our course with a brilliant PB of 23:06. An improvement of more than 3 minutes against his 053 0401 03previous best time in our “Back-up course”. Well done Champ! A well deserve achievement mate. A great performance!

And keeping up with a series of great results and performances, after managing to reach the last step of our podium on the previous week, Norberto managed to improve a position and concluded his run in second position, also with a brilliant PB. An improvement of 21 seconds when crossing the finish line in 25:28 (PB). That’s great Norberto. Keep it up with the great work!

Grabbing the last step of our podium, it was the turn of the first of our ladies. With a very tactical performance, Lucia managed to hold her position 053 0404 04over Pato to achieve her place on the podium. Good work Lu! Well done …

And while waiting for all our runners to complete their runs, all the other event participants were chilling and 053 0406 01covering themselves under the BATT Argentina Gazzebo, while relaxing, stretching their muscles and sharing stories with the other members.

Finally, on the day of her brilliant return to our runs, Crissie and Sebas completed reached the finish line and joined the Group. Big congrats Guys!!

And afterwards, some of us got together and spent some time in an “after” outside “La Reserva” to chill a bit and, between other things, wrap up with some of the preparations for our “1st Anniversary” Celebration that is going to take place after our run on the 27th October.

To sum up, it was another excellent morning with the BATT Argentina family, where all and each of its participants is leaving their personal mark. Footprints from which we are all part.

We hope you all have a great week and we look forward to see you all next Saturday to share another great morning.
