15 May BATT Argentina “La Reserva #30” – Reporte de la corrida (12/05/2018)
La semana continuó con bastante lluvia. Un mes muy mojado; pero para nuestra sorpresa, el sábado nos despertaba con un cielo totalmente despejado y una temperatura muy agradable. Ideal para correr.
Igualmente, luego de casi un mes de intensas lluvias, las condiciones de “La Reserva” no eran las mas adecuadas por lo que los guarda parques nos informaron temprano en la mañana que las Puertas del lugar permanecerían cerradas al público hasta nuevo aviso.
Pero el equipo de voluntarios de BATT Argentina, anticipando la situación; rápidamente organizó y realizo todos los preparativos necesarios para llevar a cabo el evento utilizando nuestro “Recorrido Alternativo” por las afueras de “La Reserva”.
Importante: Se recuerda a todos nuestros miembros que, nuestros eventos no se cancelan por lluvia y en los casos en que en el día las puertas de “La Reserva” se encuentren cerradas, nuestro nuevo “Punto de Encuentro Alternativo” es en las inmediaciones de las puertas del “Acceso Viamonte” de la Reserva Ecológica de la Costanera Sur (Av. Int. Hernán. M. Giralt y Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson).
Una mañana espectacular. Seb se disponía a realizar el chequeo de las condiciones del recorrido de la corrida; y mientras tanto Agus daba la bienvenida a nuestros primeros participantes del día y comenzaba a responder preguntas y brindar información a los distintos miembros.
Después de casi un mes sin ver mucho sol, la mañana era muy promisoria y los participantes comenzaban
a congregarse en las inmediaciones del “Acceso Viamonte” de “La Reserva”.
Que grandioso día para celebrar nuestro evento #30. Varios de nuestros participantes habituales vistiendo las nuevas remeras de “BATT Argentina” y además, con once “Nuevos Participantes” (seis de ellos provenientes de Norteamérica); nuestro Director de la corrida les proporciono unos breves anuncios y supo explicar cualquier tipo de inquietudes.
Como es sabido, la seguridad de todos los participantes es fundamental en los eventos de BATT Argentina, por lo que al finalizar con los cortos mensajes para los “Nuevos”, Seb brindó los anuncios generales para todos los participantes y como es costumbre, culminó sus mensajes con un fuerte aplauso para los voluntarios del día.
El equipo de voluntarios tomaba posiciones, y los corredores partían para organizarse en 
la largada. Nuestro Fiscalizador de tiempos proporcionaba unos últimos breves anuncios de seguridad y reivindicaba el valor y papel fundamental de todos nuestros voluntarios en el desarrollo de nuestros eventos.
Preparados, listos y Yaaaaa!!!!!! Y los participantes encaraban la prueba a toda velocidad.
Como una manada de animales salvajes, desde una muy temprana etapa de la corrida los participantes comenzaban a dispersarse por nuestra ruta. 
Unas condiciones climáticas muy agradables y se esperaban muy buenos tiempos en la jornada. El Equipo de 
voluntarios se acodaba en la línea de llegada y estaba listo para recibir a los primeros participantes y ya desde lejos podían observar como el pelotón de punta se acercaba a toda velocidad hacia la meta.
Carlos y Bruno habían compartido la punta durante mayor parte de la corrida y en los últimos 200mts no se daban tregua, pero finalmente fue Bruno quien supo despegarse unos metros al final y de esta forma alcanzar el máximo escalón del podio cruzando la meta en 19:36. Una corrida excelente chicos. Y un excelente ejemplo de camaradería y compañerismo!!
Unos segundos por detrás, completando una corrida extraordinaria y obteniendo el tercer puesto, cruzaba la meta Facundo con un fantástico tiempo de 19:58, logrando su primer sub 20min en nuestro recorrido Alternativo. Felicitaciones campeón. Un fantástico PB!
Un poco más relegados, pero con excelentes tiempos llegaban Rafael
, Dickson y Emmanuel y de a podo iban arribando el resto de los participantes.
A medida que los participantes concluían sus corridas, se iban agrupando para refrescarse, estirar y compartir un grato momento de distención cercanos a la zona de llegada mientras aguardábamos por nuestro Voluntaria de Cola Zully que acompañaba a Cristina para que pudiera completar su primer evento con nosotros.

Debemos recordar a nuestros miembros, que todos nuestros eventos son organizados y preparados gracias al esfuerzo y calidez de nuestro fantástico equipo de voluntarios. Existen muy variadas tareas que en su mayoría son muy sencillas; así que no hay excusas.

Y para concluir la jornada, en vistas de la celebración de nuestro evento #30 “La Reserva”, el equipo rápidamente improvisó un sorteo y obsequió tres de las nuevas remeras de “BATT Argentina” entre todos los participantes del día.

BATT Argentina “La Reserva #30” – Run Report (12/05/2018)
The rain continued pretty much during the whole week. Unusual, but a very wet month in Argentina. Luckily, Saturday woke us up with clear blue skies and a very nice temperature. Ideal for running.
Having said that, after almost a month with rain and very humid weather, our venues conditions weren’t perfect and as expected by the BATT Argentina Team of volunteers, although the weather conditions were very nice on the day, the Rangers of “La Reserva” informed us that the Gates of our venue were going to be kept closed to the general public until further noticed.
Anticipating this situation, the BATT Argentina quickly got re-organised and make all the necessary preparations to go forward with the event using our Back-Up course around “La Reserva”.
Important: We have to remind all our members that, our events are not cancelled because of rain and in cases where the gates of “La Reserva” are not opened on the day, our new “Back-up Meeting Point” is in the proximities of the “Viamonte Access Gates” (Av. Int. Hernán. M. Giralt y Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson).
A wonderful morning. Seb went for his regular course checking round to verify if the conditions were safe and suitable for running; while Agus was at the base welcoming our first participants and starting providing some event details to our members.
After almost a month without being able to see much of the sun, this was a very promising week and all the participants were anxiously getting together close by the “Acceso Viamonte” Gates of “La Reserva”.
What a glorious day to celebrate our 30th event. Quite a few of our regulars wearing the brand new “BATT Argentina” T-Shirts, and also, with eleven “First Timers” (Six of them being American students that have been living in the city for the last couple of months); our Run Director provided a few first tips and answered all their questions.
As we all know, Health & Safety of all the participants plays a key role in all BATT Argentina events and as usual, so after the short briefing to the “First Timers”, Seb provided the usual announcements to all the participants of the day and finished with a big round of applause for the day volunteers.
The volunteers got ready and took their places and the day runners started to get organised in the start line. Our Timer of the day gave a few last Safety announcements and re-vindicated the value and key role played by all our volunteers in all our events.
READY….. SET ….. GOOOOOOO!! And our participants started their run at full speed.
Like a herd of wild animals, from a very early stage of the run all the participants started getting spread all around the route.
Very favourable weather conditions and we could start expecting very good times on the run. The volunteers Team was getting ready to welcome the first competitors; and from the distance they started seeing the leading group quickly approaching the Finish.
Carlos and Bruno had been sharing the lead for most of the run and they were fiercely batting even inside the last 200 metres; but finally, it was Bruno the one who managed to find some extra energy and was able to take a short distance ahead Carlos, obtaining the top of the podium when crossing the finish in 19:36. A wonderful run guys. A great example of camaraderie and friendship!
A very short time afterwards, completing an extraordinary run and securing the third place, Facu crossed the line with a fantastic time of 19:58 and managed to get his first Sub 20min in our back up course. Big Congrats Champ! A marvellous PB!
Furthermore, just a little later but also with excellent times, it was the time of Rafael, Dickson and Emmanuel to cross the goal; and little by little all the rest of the participants were concluding their runs.
Little by little our participants were finishing their runs and they were getting together in our “Meeting area” to refresh themselves, stretch their muscles and share a great relaxing moment while waiting for our Tale Volunteer, Zully who was closing the run with our “First Timer” Cristina.

It’s very important to remember that all our events are organised and managed thanks to the warm effort of our fantastic volunteers Team. The tasks are varied and quite simple to be honest, so no excuses.
