Int. Hernán. M. Giralt y Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson). Photo back up course.Back-up Meeting Point

Nuevas MP (Recorrido Alternativo): JuanJo (-01:01).

BATT Argentina “La Reserva #29” – Run Report (05/05/2018)

Still enjoying the “Rain Season” in Buenos Aires, with a very wet & miserable weather during the week and “La Reserva” closed to the public for the last few days.

It’s very important to remember that all our events are organized and managed thanks to the warm effort of our fantastic volunteers Team. The tasks are varied and quite simple to be honest, so no excuses.

If you are interested to know more about how to give us a hand? Please take a look in our volunteers roster and let us know your query and which position you’d like to fill on battvolunteers@gmail.com.

“YOUR ACTION MAKES THE DIFFERENCE”

With that in mind, the BATT Argentina volunteers Team arrived early to our venue ready to set up our Back-Up Course using the roads outside “La Reserva”.

Important: We have to remind all our members that, our events are not cancelled because of rain and in cases where the gates of “La Reserva” are not opened on the day, our new “Back-up Meeting Point” is in the proximities of the “Viamonte Access Gates” (Av. Int. Hernán. M. Giralt y Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson). Photo back up course

Health & Safety of all the participants plays a key role in all BATT Argentina events and as usual, Seb gave a small briefing to the “First Timers” and then the usual announcements to all the participants of the day, finishing with a big round of applauses for the day volunteers.

The volunteers got ready and took their places and029 02 the day runners started to get organized in the start line. Our First Timer Maria started chatting and getting to know the other participants while performing the last set of stretches before the run.

029 07Our Timer of the day, got in his position and gave a few last Safety announcements.  READY….. SET ….. GOOOOOOO!! And our participants started their run at full throttle.

Our participants started quickly altogether with a solid and consistent pace; so just from the first few metres of the run, we could anticipate a very close battle between them.

During the run, the runners managed to get a 029 17bit more relaxed, still running quite close to each other, with nobody willing to make the first move to consolidate a safe position in the lead.

Back at the base, the volunteers Team was getting ready to welcome the first competitors; and from the distance they started seeing our participants quickly approaching the Finish.

Still without a clear margin between them, it was Maria the one that managed to make a 029 19final push in the last 400 or 500 metres to secure the First place, clocking a wonderful time of 25:13 in her first run with us. Congratulations Maria!! Good work.

A few seconds later, JuanJo took the second place with a new Back-up course PB of 25:20; very closely followed by Carlos who managed to get the last step of the podium with a time of 25:21.

New BackUp corse PBs: JuanJo (-01:01).

“Another great experience in” La Reserva “; our team and the events are becoming more solid and we continue to add participants”
