BATT Argentina “La Reserva #24” – Run Report (31/03/2018)

An XXXL Bank Holidays in Argentina and as usual, Agus and her volunteers Team arrived to “La Reserva” early to start with the set-up and all the necessary preparations so all the BATT Argentina members can enjoy another wonderful our event.

And yes, it was the 24th event and we are getting really close to the big celebration. Next Saturday we are celebrating the first 25 events of BATT Argentina in “La Reserva” and we have organized a few surprises, so don’t miss it. Come and join the fun!

On Saturday it was a glorious morning with clear blue skies, and apart from a bit of heat (Pretty much by the way) there was very comfortable conditions to develop our runs.

The Volunteers Team was already setting up all signs and equipment in our “Meeting Point” Area, making all the safety checks and finishing all the necessary preparations needed to be able to have another wonderful event.

In the meantime, Agus started welcoming our first participants and Seb was getting ready to perform his usual course conditions recognition lap to check that everything was in place, with optimal conditions to develop our run.

And getting close to our normal starting time, runners and members were getting together in our “Meeting Point”. 0109.jpgThis week there was four “First Time” participants and Seb gave them an additional brief introductory speech before providing the general announcements and tips to ensure the safety of everyone, concluding his speech with a very warm applause and thanks to all the volunteers of the day

0111.jpgOnce concluded the Announcements and Safety Briefing, all the volunteers took their positions while the day runners start going to the stat line.

Rising expectations and a bit of tension in the air while our intrepid participants were waiting for the initial starting signal.

READY…. SET….. GOOOOOO !!!!!! And all our participants pushed strongly into the first straight after our day’s Timekeeper starting call.

Some very tight starting 0119metres, with six of our contenders battling to get on the top of the field. Then, a big second group of runners who were chasing emphatically and further back was Zully, returning to our events and performing as Tale Runner/Walker with Nathaly, who was participating in our events for the first time.

Over the first part of the run, there was some changing positions between the leaders, but getting close to the middle of the round, Bruno and Carlos had established a solid position on top.

Also, once the runners were getting close to the middle of their run, it was clear that Dickson and Facu, could not manage to keep with the rhythm of Arnaldo and Luís, who were still battling for the last position of the podium very close to the top guys.

And there, getting into the last 300 metres, our Timer announced that Carlos and Bruno were getting close to the finish.

0401 05At the end, with a very tight margin, Bruno managed to get his first Top of the Podium in the BATT Argentina trials (19:49), very closely followed by Carlos (19:50) and Armando (20:01) who ended up getting the last step of the podium.

Impressive performances guys. Congratulations! Specially for Bruno that finally, after a few little frustrations, managed to get the first position of our field with an impressive PB.

At this point, it is also very important not to forget the brilliant performance of Luís, that on his first run in “La Reserva” completed his round in 20:04, just three seconds behind Armando.

A little further on the field,0405 9 Dickson and Facundo concluded their run with excellent times, while we all waited for the rest participants to approach the finish line.

Little by little our participants were finishing their runs and they were 0410 5getting together in our “Meeting area” to refresh themselves, stretch their muscles and share a great relaxing moment while waiting for Zully and Nathaly who were at the back of the field, taking care of all our participants backs.

Another brilliant run, with some excellent times from our participants, specially some of our regular runners who have managed to reduce their finishing times and obtained wonderful PBs – Bruno (-00:07); Arnaldo (-03:21); Dickson (-02:21); Hugo (-02:10) and Mireya (-02:57).

“Another great experience in” La Reserva “; our team and the events are becoming more solid and we continue to add participants to the community “

Once again, please remember that we are getting close to our 25th event and it’s going to be a special one. With some awards and special recognitions, a few guests and of course, a few things eat.

Have a great week and we look forward to see you all next Saturday to share another great morning.

Congratulations to all our participants and volunteers and we hope you all can keep enjoying your running!!
